I saw this place advertised in Clipper magazine and the Homesteader newspaper and decided to give it a try. I'm surprised to see so few reviews here, but maybe it's because this restaurant is a little off the beaten path (which makes it "a hidden jewel," as Phantom Gourmet would say). And while I would ordinarily, when it comes to Italian restaurants, save my 5-star reviews for (some of) the North End restaurants, I am making an exception in this case--because the food here is the balls!!! I have had the veal parmigiana here 2 or 3 times, and it is amaaaaazing! (In fact, it is probably in the top 3 veal parms that I have ever eaten: perfectly cooked--not too well-done and not too mushy--with just the right amount of breading, and just dripping with nice, gooey, beautiful-tasting cheese...OMG, think cheese heaven, ladies and gentlemen!!!) And the marinara sauce is excellent, too, as are their meatballs, and they give you large portions of both the veal and the pasta, as well (for only $8.95). The decor is also nice (shiny, black wooden tables for lunch, which they cover with white table-clothes for dinner), and the service is fantastic--attentive, but not to the point of being annoying. My only quibble is that they have a schedule that's kind of hard to remember, with odd hours, and, as a result, I have come here to eat a few times and have found the place closed (and, needless to say, I was not amused...), but that's just a minor complaint--because anyone who loves to eat Italian really, really, really needs to eat here!

Very poor service. Waitress was discourteous, rude and unclean. She held the glasses from above the top with her dirty hands all over them. The food was overcooked, dry and horrible. I had the veal parmigiana. I spoke to Kathy the owner about both issues. She did not seem to care. I would not go back, nor would I recommend it to anyone. If you want real Italian quality food there is no substitute for Boston's North End.

The wife and I love this place. We are bar flies and enjoy our time there. The food is always good. The filet is one of the better steaks in the area. Will go to five stars when Kathy doubles the number of seats at the bar! Until then, get there early.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
